The Supplier Skills Programme: supporting and upskilling local business

We’re thrilled to announce that our employability partners and good friends, Open Study College, are working as an online educational course provider with the £12m Supplier Skills Programme (SSP), alongside Birmingham City Council and the EU European Social Fund.
The Programme is aimed at supporting Birmingham-based SMEs, who have been trading for 6 months or more within the region and operate within a sector where there is significant job replacement demand – most notably HS2, Health and Social Care, Transport and Logistics, Retail, Hospitality, Tourism and Technology – and are looking to put their staff through online courses, for training and upskilling purposes.
The SSP will fund up to 50% of overall course costs, which equates to offering applicant businesses generous training grants of between £500 to a maximum of £18,000 per SME. Open Study College have a huge range of online courses available across not only different subjects, but at different educational levels too, so are an ideal service provider and partner for a programme of this scale.
