Tedx Aston University’s “Beyond the Box” is a roaring success

On Sunday 9th June, the Midlands Arts Centre hosted Tedx Aston University’s flagship annual event, titled “Beyond the Box”.
This interesting and challenging event shared stories from a diverse group of individuals who had been courageous enough to step outside their own “box” – those who had gone against expectations, thought a little differently and seized the opportunity to create something new. Sharing their stories through TEDx talks, the audience was encouraged by the speakers, performers and videos throughout the day to think of ways in which they would be able to go beyond in the box in their day to day lives.
We are immensely proud that our very own Rebecca Simkiss was chosen to be the host of this fantastic day, in front of a packed-out audience of over 200 people.
The event included a diverse range of expert speakers, including Danny Bent, Leorna Mathias, Dr Mick Jackson and Harry Beard – to name but a few!
