SimkissGuy Work Experience Programme in Action

In the fast-paced market in which most of us live and work, there is no doubt that experience in a professional working environment can make a world of difference to a candidate, especially when they are in, or have just left, education. In a time where graduates and school leavers are trying to stand out, work experience on a CV is invaluable.
This is the reason why SimkissGuy Recruitment launched its Work Experience Programme when we opened our doors in January 2013. Recognising that young emerging talent needed to be given the opportunity to develop skills in a busy office environment, we have been working with our partners to offer placements ever since, and with great success.
This September saw Catalyst Corporate Finance join forces with SimkissGuy in order to support a current undergraduate looking to develop his experience, by offering a two week placement. This has been a triumph for the candidate, with the impact clearly being felt by the Catalyst Corporate Finance team:
“Sam has fast become a valuable member of the Catalyst team. Catalyst is a fast-paced business where no two days are the same and high standards are expected from all as soon as they join. Despite his lack of knowledge about our business and services, Sam has proved himself to be highly competent, carrying out a variety of tasks for the Support, Research and Business Development teams efficiently and accurately. He has also handled calls from our clients, typically senior professionals and business owners, in a professional manner. His calm but quietly confident manner combined with ability to carry out his job successful will make him an asset to any business.”
Developing talent in our city is a high priority, and we would like to thank Catalyst Corporate Finance and our work experience partners for dedicating time and resource to ensuring that Birmingham’s young aspiring professionals are high on their agenda.
