My first month at SimkissGuy – Beth Owens

On the 5th October, my wonderful colleagues and bosses greeted me with a rather large box of their specialised cupcakes to welcome me into my new role!
No day is ever the same here! In the four weeks that I have been here, the company has continued to grow! As another part of the SimkissGuy jigsaw puzzle, as a team we are now synchronised to ensure that we provide our clients and candidates with the very best service at all times. We each play a vital role in placing a candidate. With a dynamic and growing company, I have been able to explore all the different aspects of recruitment and really get to grips with the whole process. I have already had the opportunity to manage our social media, book in candidates, attend networking events, and many more! The fast-paced environment and the constant changes in jobs means that I am never left uninterested in my job.
My second week ended in a real treat! The Colmore Curry Club that I have heard so much about arrived. I was fortunate enough to attend the event whilst enjoying a 2 course meal! That same week I was also able to attend the Hyatt High Tea event and enjoy a fabulous fashion show! And if that wasn’t enough, I had the opportunity to attend the Big Art Project 2015 hosted by Hotel Du Vin to hear Andy Street, CEO John Lewis, speak.
I can honestly say that I am extremely fortunate to be able to attend so many great events and meet so many people as part of my job. With SimkissGuy’s already expansive network in place, the Number 1 rule for events: what can we do to help connect the people who there to our network!
Aside from the luxurious events I get to attend, I run the social media for the company; I enjoy the fact that through social networks SimkissGuy can help promote Birmingham events and showcase some amazing charities to our followers.
It’s been a busy coupe of months so far – I can’t wait to see what next month brings!
