Rebecca Simkiss
Co-Founder and Managing Director
Rebecca is Co-Founder and Managing Director of SimkissGuy Recruitment, managing the strategic direction and day to day operations of the business. A Birmingham girl born and bred, Becky is passionate about the city, and has worked as a recruitment expert in the Colmore Business District since the summer of 2004. Becky brings leadership, energy, drive and a passion to be the best we can be to the SimkissGuy brand, and is not happy unless she has 101 things happening at the same time, whether it be launching a new networking event, or delivering a keynote speech to upcoming entrepreneurs. Away from SimkissGuy, Rebecca has undertaken a number of leadership positions for great causes across the West Midlands, notably as Chair and Trustee of LoveBrum, a Chair of BPS Birmingham Future and has brought her expertise to several regional boards including West Midlands Women’s Voice. Rebecca’s awards include a Fellowship from Birmingham Metropolitan College for her contribution to mentoring, 2017 Birmingham Businesswoman of the Year (Birmingham Awards) and 2018 Women of the Year (City of Birmingham Business Awards). Becky doesn’t have much free time, but away from SimkissGuy she loves holidays with her husband, spending time with her two young nieces, good food and enjoys nothing better than sitting in the sunshine with a good book and a glass of wine.
Helena King
Business Operations Manager
Born and raised in the West Midlands, Helena ventured North for her education, completing a degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds. Returning to her home city of Birmingham, Helena has undertaken numerous roles within SimkissGuy since starting an Internship in 2016, really developing an understanding of each position and process in order to step into her current role of Business Operations Manager. With her calm and positive demeanour, she oversees the day to day operations of the company, working closely with Rebecca to ensure a smooth service is delivered to all clients and candidates across all three divisions. Tasked with making sure all processes are as efficient and streamlined as possible, she ensures that looking after our candidates is at the heart of all we do. She brings a love of language, literature and properly roasted coffee to the SimkissGuy team. Always keen to be more involved in the city, Helena has undertaken further positions as a Membership Committee Member for LoveBrum,and a Tutor for The Access Project. Out of the office you can find Helena exploring the city’s independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
