We are delighted to share the release of a powerful new research report: From Insight into Action: Advancing Women in Business Leadership in the Midlands
Back in 2022, SimkissGuy Recruitment MD, Rebecca Simkiss, was asked to contribute to the original Women in Business Leadership in the Midlands study, led by the inspirational Dr. Samia M. and Professor Jenni Jones at the University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton Business School.
This month, Rebecca was invited to participate once again—this time in the follow-up research, which builds on the original findings with fresh insight and clear, practical recommendations.

This follow-up report is backed by a 2024 FABBS small grant and explores insights from women leaders and a focus group of male leaders across the Midlands.
The recommendations are clear and compelling:
– Reframe the Midlands as inclusive and future-facing
– Invest in early school outreach to build a diverse pipeline
– Expand leadership development beyond STEM
– Track and promote visible behaviours: sponsorship, allyship, mentoring
