2024 marks 20 years of my career in recruitment. It is just crazy how quickly that time has gone.
In May 2004 I walked into a recruitment consultancy on Waterloo Street, looking for a career in marketing or something media related.
My recruitment consultant persuaded me that I should think about starting a career in recruitment.
That conversation changed the direction of my entire life.
It’s strange how, at the time, you never know when a conversation is going to be the thing that changes everything.
This also means that I have only had 3 jobs in the last 20 years. 😮
11 of those 20 years have been through the founding and as MD of SimkissGuy Recruitment.
In an industry that is renowned for transient workers and high turnover of staff, I am pretty proud of that fact.
I am also hugely proud of the fact that many of the clients I started working with in 2004, still work with me as clients to this day. It has been such a privilege to see these businesses grow, change, adapt.
Many of those clients contacts I now call friends. You know who you are. 😀
And it may be a week or so too late, but Happy 11th Birthday SimkissGuy Recruitment. It’s been quite the journey so far.
Recession. Brexit. Covid. Financial Crisis. I am proud to still be here. I am proud of the team and reputation that has been built in that time.
I wonder what the next 11 years have in store?
