Bon Voyage! Becky’s “Cycling” to Paris!

The team at SimkissGuy like to do all they can to support local charities. So, when Joint Managing-Director Becky Simkiss announced that she was going to cycle the 277 miles from London to Paris for a local charity, there was little surprise at SimkissGuy HQ. There was however some questions around how exactly Becky was going to have time?!
However, she soon explained that instead of donning a beret (and some padded cycle shorts) and setting her SatNav from Colmore Plaza to “la tour Eiffel”, this little charitable adventure would allow Becky to cycle to Paris without even having to leave Colmore Row – as part of a static bike challenge organised by The Mad Hatters Charity!
Being close to Becky’s heart, The Mad Hatter’s Charity was started 8 years ago primarily to give sick and disabled Midlands children exciting days out. Having received charitable status in March 2009, they work with over 90 ‘special needs’ schools in the Midlands area.
The challenge started towards the end of 2013, and gave participants the opportunity to complete the journey over 6 months either individually or as part of a team. Never one to shy away from really pushing herself however, Becky decided to complete the challenge on her own, in just 5 weeks.
Hoping to raise £350 for the charity, and now two weeks in to her challenge, Becky is just under half way there. Keeping tabs of her virtual journey on a daily basis in the office, that puts her at Poole in Dorset already, and just about ready to cycle over the English Channel! Not long to go before she will be cycling down Champs-Élysées.
So we at SimkissGuy would like to say well done Becky for your efforts so far and for supporting a very worthy cause!
