As the old saying goes, time flies when you are having fun… – Harry Wheeler

It’s funny how fast the months fly past; I can still vividly remember my first day at SimkissGuy, walking into the office not knowing if I was overwhelmed with excitement, or nerves.
When I get the chance, or indeed the time, to look back at the last few months it amazes me how much I’ve learnt in such a short space of time. I was welcomed with open arms to the working world, and the world of recruitment, and I’m so grateful for that. You’re bound to learn a lot when you’re working with experienced and well respected professionals every day and it’s majorly changed the way I look at my working life.
I feel I’ve grown up a lot since coming into work. I’ve had to adapt from socialising with school mates and teachers, to representing my company name with integrity at all times; developing mature working relationships with my colleagues and socialising at networking events with inspirational figures around Birmingham. It’s fair to say it’s been the biggest learning curve of my life.
I’ve had some amazing experiences in the last five months, and I know how lucky I am to be here. I’ve watched the team grow, we all had an emotional goodbye to where it all started in our old Colmore Plaza office, and were so excited to move to our new bigger home in the building. It was exciting to say hello to the future of SimkissGuy. It’s all very much new to me and a brilliant experience for me to have at such a young age.
Settling into my job as Relationship Coordinator wasn’t easy. I’ve had to realise that this is a business. People rely on us, and people rely on me to help them find employment. But as time’s gone on, with the help of my colleagues, I feel more confident and competent in what I need to do as Relationship Coordinator.
I can’t wait to see what the future brings of my career and my time at SimkissGuy. There’s a massive buzz around the office, and as a business we only look like we are heading in one direction. We’re bursting with new ideas, and we are quickly becoming a recognised name in the city.
It’s brilliant to know how much I’ve personally progressed over the last few months. I feel like a different man to the one who first walked into Colmore Plaza!
So roll on month six, seven, eight and hopefully many more!
